Kingfishers Make It 4 Straight with 4-2 Win
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers topped the Boston Patriots, 4-2, in United States Premier League action at Pittsburgh Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Pittsburgh pitcher and New York, native Todd Hunter. Hunter went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 5-13. Elton Ray converted his 18th save in 23 tries.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Richard Trevithick went deep for the Kingfishers. With Pittsburgh trailing 2-0, he drilled a 2-run home run.
"We did a lot of things right," said Trevithick.
