Baseball fans saw a good contest between the St. Petersburg Thunder and Yakima Hops.

The St. Petersburg Thunder topped the Yakima Hops, 6-4, in USSL Double A action at Baby Thunder Dome. The game was highlighted by the performance of St. Petersburg third baseman Jay Fuller. St. Petersburg reliever Steve O'Bryan picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Andy Foster shouldered the loss. Ed Wheeler closed it out for his 15th save.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Fuller, who is tied for 9th in the SAA in RBI with 49, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Thunder into the lead, 3-1.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Fuller told the St. Petersburg Chronicle.

The 6th-place Thunder improved to 42-49.
