Woo Helps Highlanders Beat Thunder, 9-0
The Asheville Highlanders topped the St. Petersburg Thunder, 9-0, with third baseman Han-wu Woo playing a big role. Woo went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Highlanders in the win. Asheville reliever Scotty Mays picked up the win, raising his record to 5-0. Randy Crane was tagged with the loss. The losing streak for St. Petersburg has now reached 5 games.

With Asheville leading 6-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Woo came up to bat against St. Petersburg pitcher Steve O'Bryan. Woo hit a slider to left for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Highlanders on top, 9-0.

Highlanders manager Don Thomas had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
