Hops Come Back Late to Clip Rails

The Yakima Hops defeated the Richland Rails, 4-3, in USSL Double A action at Rails Ballpark. Yakima pitcher Kevin Thornton had a standout performance. Yakima pitcher Matt Murray got the win, upping his record to 6-1. Robinson Espinoza got the loss. Thomas Brown closed it out for his 12th save.
Luca Norona, the 23-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Norona contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Yakima up, 4-3.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Norona.
The 7th-place Hops improved to 34-39.
