Mockingbirds Top Kingfishers, 7-5
|
Amor Campos left his imprint on the 7-5 Mississippi win against the Pittsburgh Kingfishers. Campos, who is tied for 10th in the PL in doubles with 21, was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Alfredo Rincón earned the win for Mississippi. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 5 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 10-5. The Kingfishers have now dropped 7 straight.
A key moment came in the top of the sixth inning when Mockingbirds center fielder Ai-de Lau socked a first pitch fastball to center for a 2-run single, putting Mississippi up, 6-3.
"Good win for us," said Campos. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
