Rails Edge Past Cangrejos Fantasmas, 6-5
|
With third baseman Willie Davidson leading the charge, the Richland Rails defeated the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 6-5, at Rails Ballpark. Davidson, who is tied for 7th in the SAA in total bases with 109, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Richland reliever Juan Trujillo picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Nick Cummins was tagged with the loss. At 32-35, the Rails claim 4th place in the Silver AA.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Davidson hit a fastball from Nick Cummins for a solo home run. The Rails, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We'll savor this win," Davidson told the Richland Times, "then get ready for the next game."
