Asheville wasted a solid 6.2-inning effort from starting pitcher Anthony Patterson, losing to Richland, 2-1, at Asheville Park. Juan Trujillo closed it out for his 9th save. With the victory, the Rails record now stands at 25-25.
In the top of the first, Davis Davenport ambushed a 2-1 sinker from Anthony Patterson and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Richland a quick 2-0 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Davenport told the Richland Times.
