Rails Top Atoms to Even Record

Both teams had their chances, but the Richland Rails eventually prevailed.
Bethesda right fielder Tracy Collins had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Collins went 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, even as Richland beat the Atoms, 9-8. Ernesto Cabruja notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0.
Richland relied on the hitting of Hugo Mahé to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rails on top, 8-4. For the game, Mahé had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Mahé, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
The 'W' lifts Richland's record to 24-24.
