The home crowd had a good time watching the Asheville Highlanders and Nuevo Mexico Mariachis get after it.

Nuevo Mexico Mariachis starter Stanton Maxwell kept the Asheville Highlanders hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Jasny Buzek earned the save, his 10th.

With runs few and far between, the Mariachis had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Nuevo Mexico came in the bottom of the first inning, when shortstop Enreecko Dalusag delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Elvin Olson and made the score 2-0, Mariachis. Dalusag was 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Maxwell told the Nuevo Mexico Today.

Nuevo Mexico, at 16-19, sits in 6th place in the Silver AA.
