Atoms Stick Blues with 3-2 Loss
|
Bethesda Atoms starter Carlos Gómez turned in a sterling performance against the Barton Springs Blues, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Their 15-20 record puts the Atoms 8th in the Silver AA.
The Atoms got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ray Englund, who in the bottom of the third hit a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Atoms on top, 3-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Bethesda manager Cristián Sandoval said.
