|
New Orleans third baseman Chris P. Bacon played a vital role in his team's 4-3 triumph over Colorado. He was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for New Orleans. New Orleans reliever Herman Stone picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Virgil Gilbert took the loss. Ronnie Gómez was called on to finish, recording his 11th save.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the top of the sixth, Bacon had a key at-bat for New Orleans. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Bacon, who finished 5th in the PL in on-base percentage with .378 in 2048, hit a run-scoring single off Virgil Gilbert, making the score 3-2, Voodoo.
"I was a little disappointed," said Colorado manager Mack Kilkeary. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The win puts New Orleans at 44-39 this season.
