Mariachis Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Dolphins
|
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis picked up a win at Mariachi Band Shell, knocking off the Pine Island Dolphins, 4-2. Starting pitcher José Mercado was a big reason why. In 6.1 innings, Mercado surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up the save was Jasny Buzek, his 8th.
Early in the game, shortstop Enreecko Dalusag had a 2-run double for Nuevo Mexico. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Mariachis on top, 2-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Nuevo Mexico manager Kyle Bass. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Mariachis saw their record improve to 13-13.
