Atoms Come Back Late, Nip Highlanders
|
Brandon Seif was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Bethesda and Asheville. The Atoms left-hander helped his team beat the Highlanders, 2-1. Bethesda reliever Eddy Geels was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Martín Rivera took the loss. Asheville now has a record of 7-5.
In the bottom of the ninth, Zózimo Laurentino had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring sacrifice fly to left off Asheville pitcher Martín Rivera.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Laurentino said.
