Streaking Thunder Win Another One, 8-5
The St. Petersburg Thunder beat the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 8-5, at Baby Thunder Dome. The Thunder got a fine performance from left fielder Jim McClain, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win lifts St. Petersburg to a record of 9-2.

The Love Boats had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Thunder going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old center fielder Yu-shu Liu came to the plate. Liu hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 fastball from Lake Minnetonka hurler Li-zhi Lai. It was Liu's 3rd double of the year.

"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Emílio Sáenz.
