Thunder Sneak Past Love Boats, 5-4
The St. Petersburg Thunder did just enough to sneak past the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 5-4, at Baby Thunder Dome. St. Petersburg pitcher Manuel Villalobos, in particular, had a standout performance. Mathew Ferguson earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. St. Petersburg, now 8-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.

St. Petersburg took a 5-4 lead on Jim McClain's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which McClain hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Lake Minnetonka pitcher Sing Song shaking his head.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," McClain said.
