The Colorado Billy Goats took Mississippi pitcher Noud Taaij's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Magnolia Park. The final score had Colorado getting past the Mockingbirds, 3-1. Taaij went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 9. The winning pitcher was Jay Newton. He's now 8-5. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits for the Billy Goats. At 35-43, the Billy Goats find themselves in 8th place in the Premier League.
Colorado relied on the bat of Chad Holland to get the win. The third baseman produced a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Billy Goats ahead, 2-0. For the game, Holland had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
