|
Northville Eclipse starter Gustavo Días hurled his team past the Marquette Miners, 3-0. Días, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Earning the save was Brian Becker. He's now cashed in 10 of 14 save opportunities.
Northville used a well-timed hit by Gustavo Cota to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Eclipse ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Northville manager Pedro Ángel said.
The Eclipse raised their record to 41-42.
