White Walkers Drop Voodoo, 1-0, with Late Score
|
New Orleans got a terrific performance from pitcher Huibert Illidge, but it wasn't enough to beat the Buffalo White Walkers. Buffalo won the Beyond the Wall contest, 1-0. Illidge threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Magnus Belli notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 4-4. Mario Rosales notched his 15th save in 20 chances.
Daniel Marley was 2-4 with 2 singles for Buffalo. The 30-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Tim Strong. It was his 17th RBI of the season.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Buffalo manager Chris Lau.
With the win over New Orleans, the White Walkers improved to 44-33.
