3-0 Saboteurs Win over Miners Evens Season Record
|
In a low-scoring game between Toledo and Marquette, pitcher Dan Wells was excellent. The Toledo right-hander helped his team knock off the Miners, 3-0. Earning his 20th save of the year was Cristo Sánchez. The 6th-place Saboteurs sport a record of 36-36.
The Saboteurs grabbed the lead in the top of the third. With one out, Vincente Valentín hit a solo home run off Bill Lund, putting Toledo in front, 2-0. For Valentín, it was his 8th home run of the season.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Toledo manager José Zamora.
