Miners Beat Saboteurs, 4-2
|
Ben Gallagher was outstanding against Toledo. The right-hander had a forkball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Miners 4-2 win. Gallagher got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Gallagher allowed 2 runs. Ambrosi Pigafetta sewed up the save, his 7th.
Steve Younger helped out the Marquette cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder drew 2 walk.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Marquette manager Jeremy Dennis. "It's usually not just one thing."
