The 5-4 Providence win over Minnesota was due in large part to Gustavo Pérez. The Pilgrims first baseman was 4 for 4 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI. The save went to Rodger Asmus, his 23rd this season. Providence has an impressive 45-22 record.

Providence used a timely hit from Devin Wallace to get the win. The shortstop stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pilgrims ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I was a little disappointed," said Minnesota manager Eddie O'Bryan. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
