Fur Traders Go Down to Defeat, 3-1
|
Providence starter Roger Raper put a stranglehold on the Tacoma offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Pilgrims to a 3-1 win. Raper picked up the win for Providence, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-5. Providence has an impressive 43-22 record.
The Pilgrims had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Providence, with one out. Tacoma, with a runner on 2nd, was mounting a threat. David McAllister dug in at the plate, but on a 1-0 cutter, he grounded out.
