Loons Go Down to Defeat, 5-1
|
The Toledo Saboteurs beat the Minnesota Loons, 5-1, at Toledo Backyard Park. The win was due in part to second baseman Don Callahan, who was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was Steve Barnes. He tossed 78 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The Saboteurs' win now puts them at 30-32.
Early in the game, Callahan had a 2-run home run for Toledo. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Saboteurs on top, 2-0.
"Good win for us," said Callahan. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
