Nationals Fall Short, 3-2, at Westwood
|
The Westwood Sixshooters overcame a fine performance by Ottawa left fielder Ramiro Peralta to defeat the Nationals, 3-2, at Sixshooters Stadium. Peralta went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Westwood, now 25-35, holds down 11th place in the Menard's AA.
Westwood took a 3-2 lead on José Escalante's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Escalante hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Ottawa pitcher Hui Loh visibly frustrated.
After the game, Westwood manager Héctor Montoya applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
