Browning Dominant in Pilgrims Victory
Providence starter Ted Browning put a stranglehold on the Marquette offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Pilgrims to a 4-1 win. The save went to Rodger Asmus, number 20 for him. Providence goes to 38-19, Marquette to 26-31.

Browning, who dominated for Providence, earned the victory to move to 3-1. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 5. Marquette batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"I liked his command," said Providence manager Terry King. "Ted was throwing strikes."
