Minnesota Makes It 8 Straight with 6-2 Win
|
The Minnesota Loons picked up a win at Farmers Field, knocking off the Lancaster Farmers, 6-2. On the mound for Minnesota was right-hander Alberto Nieves, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win elevated the Loons to 26-20.
Minnesota used the clutch hitting of Manuel Ortíz to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Loons ahead, 6-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Ortíz.
