Lancaster starter Arthur Ward pitched well against the Tacoma Fur Traders at Farmers Field. The left-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Earning his 5th save for Lancaster was Raúl Gómez. Lancaster now has a 5-game win streak.

Tied up with the Fur Traders in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Farmers got a boost from catcher Henry Williams. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Williams saw a 0-1 fastball from Jean-Paul Jaffre and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Lancaster on top, 2-1.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Ward.
