A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Marquette Miners and Casper Ghosts.

The Marquette Miners got a magnificent performance from pitcher Joe Morris, who stifled the Casper offense en route to a 3-0 Miners win at Marquette Stadium. The save went to Nelson Carrasco, number 9 for him.

The Miners got an important contribution from catcher Jean-Pierre Alix, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-0 curveball into right-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Miners ahead, 2-0.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Morris.

Their 17-15 record puts the Miners 4th in the Menard's AA.
