Behind an impressive start by Matt Howe, Casper beat Westwood, 1-0. Howe, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Getting the save was Corbin Dundee, his 9th.
Tomás Ventura drove in one run for Casper. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Alfredo Casas. It was his 15th RBI of the season.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Westwood manager Héctor Montoya. "The effort was great."
Casper is now 14-8, while Westwood is 9-13.
