Patriots Beat Mississippi, 2-1

The Boston Patriots defeated the Mississippi Mockingbirds, 2-1, in United States Premier League action at Dunkin Donuts Park. Boston pitcher Iiri Lahti had a standout performance. Lahti, the winner, moves to 9-1. He threw 9 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up no walks. The win elevated the Patriots to 41-29.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Boston catcher Salvador Ortega, facing Amin Yahouse, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Patriots the 2-1 win.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Lahti. "But I have better dreams after a win."
