Farmers Pull Off Thrilling 2-1 Win in Extras
|
The Lancaster Farmers went home winners at Sixshooters Stadium, thanks in large part to starter San-gui Tow. Tow stifled the Westwood Sixshooters, enabling Lancaster to grab the 2-1 win. Raúl Gómez, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. The Farmers, now 10-5, have been red hot.
Runs were hard to come by in this one. Akihiro Ito's at-bat with two out in the top of the tenth, therefore, was critical. The Lancaster right fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put his team on top, 2-1.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Westwood manager Héctor Montoya.
