Lighthouse Earn 3-2 Road Win Over Detroit
|
Long Island Lighthouse starter Aaron Daniels turned in a sterling performance against the Detroit Elite, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Daniels, now 10-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Christopher Tracy earned the save, his 29th, for the Lighthouse.
Long Island used the timely hitting of David Stone to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lighthouse on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Both teams played hard," said Long Island manager Michael Esposito.
Their 54-45 record puts the Lighthouse third in the Third League.
