Knights Beat Northern Lions BC, 4-3
|
Chris Jackson pitched well, but his team, the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Kingston Township Knights at Cloverdale Legion Park. The winner in relief was Ed Walters. He is now 7-2. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 5.1 innings. Kingston Township is in 9th place in the Third League with a record of 44-49.
Kane Felton dealt the Northern Lions BC a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Kingston Township leading 3-0, Felton, who finished 5th in the 3L in stolen bases with 20 last year, hit a first pitch curveball for a run-scoring single.
"I was a little disappointed," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
