Kingfishers Get 6-3 Win Versus San Mateo
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers knocked off the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 6-3, at Pittsburgh Grounds. Kyung-chul Son was a big reason Pittsburgh won. The shortstop went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The 7th-place Dirty Reds have lost 4 straight games.
Pittsburgh designated hitter Tao Kaukini contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a slider into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 22nd hit of the season and put the Kingfishers ahead, 1-0.
"I know we have our doubters," said San Mateo manager David Dodds. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
