Pandas, St. John Deal Knights 5-0 Setback
|
Montana beat Kingston Township on the strength of starter Kelly St. John's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-0. Horace Cope was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities. The Pandas' win now puts them at 52-35.
It was a masterful performance from the popular St. John, who notched 6 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 2 hits. St. John, who leads the 3L with a 1.70 ERA, goes to 10-1 on the year with 95 strikeouts.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," St. John told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
