Pandas Dump Divided, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring clash between Montana and D.C., pitcher Kelly St. John was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Curt Howard finished the game for Montana and earned his 2nd save. Montana goes to 42-29, D.C. to 19-52.
Montana center fielder Ron Pollard contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 64th hit of the season and put the Pandas ahead, 3-0.
"I was a little disappointed," said D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
