Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and Toledo Stingers.
Thunder Bay picked up a win at Great Northern Field, bumping off the Toledo Stingers, 6-5. Pitcher Chris Jackson was a major reason the Northern Lions BC emerged victorious. Jackson, now 6-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The save went to Mike Allen, number 10 for him.
Marcantonio Talamante, the Thunder Bay left fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 6-2, Northern Lions BC. For the game, Talamante was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds. "The effort was great."
The win puts the Northern Lions BC at 30-38, while the Stingers drop to 37-31.
