Pandas Hand Battery 5-2 Loss
|
The Charleston Battery got a superb performance from pitcher Ken Grant, but the Montana Pandas still won the game, 5-2. Grant threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The win belongs to Salvador Heredia in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Ken Grant took the loss for Charleston. The 'W' lifts Montana's record to 33-21.
Montana used the bat of Ron Pollard to capture the win. The center fielder jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pandas ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We've got a great group of guys," Pollard said, "and we're having fun right now."
