The Detroit Elite topped the Kingston Township Knights, 6-2, in Menard's Third League action at Detroit Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Detroit pitcher and Pinar del Rio, Cuba, native José Martínez. The win gives Detroit a season record of 25-20.

Tom Scroby had a big hit for Detroit in the bottom of the second inning. With Detroit leading 2-0, Scroby hit a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Elite up, 4-0.

"We'll try to build on that win," Scroby told the Detroit Observer.
