Battery Deal Knights 8-5 Loss
|
Kingston Township got a big-time effort from pitcher Rodrigo García, but it wasn't enough to keep the Charleston Battery from winning the game, 8-5. García threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Charleston reliever Everett Pratt picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Ki-seop Ch'oe was tagged with the loss. Charleston is now 15-23, Kingston Township 21-17.
Charleston used the clutch hitting of Bryan Spilsbury to capture the win. The catcher drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Battery the lead, 6-5. For the game, Spilsbury had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Spilsbury.
