Loss to Pilgrims Extends Westwood Losing Streak
|
Providence starter Roger Raper pitched well against the Westwood Sixshooters at Field of Plenty. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-4. With the win, Providence climbs to 3-4.
Had Elvin Cook not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Cook hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Pilgrims.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Raper.
