Terry Smacks 3 Homers in 7-0 Miners Win
|
A good performance from third baseman Trent Terry helped the Marquette Miners defeat the Toledo Saboteurs, 7-0. Terry slugged 3 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored three times for the Miners. George Gross was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed no runs on 2 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. The loss drops Toledo to 2-3.
With Marquette leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Terry hit a curveball from Paul Allen for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Miners ahead, 3-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Toledo manager José Zamora.
