Velásquez Powers Fog Offense
The Sunset District Fog topped the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes by the score of 5-3, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Reynaldo Velásquez. Velásquez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Fog. Frank Courtney notched his 8th save in 10 chances. The Fog saw their win-loss record go to 41-58. At the same time, the Golden Cranes fell to 45-54.

With Sunset District leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Velásquez hit a cutter from Larry Larsen for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Fog ahead, 4-0.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Fog manager Luis Ríos. "This one was nice to get."
