A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes and Sunset District Fog.

Gelana Maitho never let the Fog get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Golden Cranes to a win, 6-0. The save went to Jordan Murdoch, his 1st this season.

The Fog had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Golden Cranes going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old catcher Spencer Sottrel came to the plate. Sottrel hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch forkball from Sunset District hurler Ricardo Méndez. It was Sottrel's 1st home run of the year.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Maitho said.

Santa Barbara has a 3-game win streak, while Sunset District has lost 3 in a row.
