Tritons Topple Flyers with Late Rally
Jersey City took on Pennsauken in front of a lively crowd.

The Pennsauken Flyers got a superb performance from pitcher Cristóbal Noriega. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Jersey City. The Tritons won the game, 3-0. Noriega threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Jersey City pitcher Bob Burke got the win. He's now 2-5. Frank Cunningham was tagged with the loss. Rusty Williams, credited with the save, is now 6 for 7 in save opportunities.

Jersey City used the timely hitting of Joe Smith to capture the win. The third baseman socked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tritons ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Smith said.

Jersey City is now 38-53, while Pennsauken is 47-44.
