Austin took on Salt Lake City in front of a lively crowd.

The Austin Black Mambas picked up a win at Mamba Park, knocking off the Salt Lake City Buzz, 8-0. On the mound for Austin was right-hander Carlos Gómez, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Black Mambas now have a mark of 41-46.

Gómez, the winning pitcher, goes to 4-7 on the season. In 8 innings, the right-hander limited the opposition to no runs on 3 hits, while recording 9 punchouts. Gómez and the Black Mambas were able to cruise to victory.

"We looked pretty good up and down," said Austin manager Mike Silver.
