Voodoo Suffer 2-0 Loss to Boston
|
Huibert Illidge pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The New Orleans Voodoo, despite Illidge's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Boston Patriots at Dunkin Donuts Park. Heath Hennington was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The win puts Boston at 4-2.
The Voodoo had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Patriots going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old left fielder Emílio Rey came to the plate. Rey hit a run-scoring double on a full count fastball from New Orleans hurler Huibert Illidge. It was Rey's 2nd double of the year.
"Nice, tidy little win," Rey said after the game.
