Skidding Golden Cranes Lose 8th Straight
|
The Norfolk Pajaritos defeated the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 6-3, in USSL Triple A action at Crane Field. Ernesto Valenzuela pulled his weight. The 1-year veteran was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The winner in relief was Carroll Kelly. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. The Golden Cranes have now dropped 8 straight.
Norfolk needed the clutch hitting of Carlos Fuentes to notch the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pajaritos on top, 6-3. For the game, Fuentes had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
