Golden Cranes Net 5-4 Win Over Black Mambas
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes did just enough to sneak past the Austin Black Mambas, 5-4, at Mamba Park. Santa Barbara pitcher Troy Dalton, in particular, had a standout performance. In 6.2 innings, Dalton surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Nathan Jordan closed it out for his 1st save.
With Santa Barbara leading 4-0 in the top of the fifth, Robbie Fisher hit a run-scoring single off Austin pitcher Harley Hawk. It put the Golden Cranes ahead 5-0.
"I like winning," Dalton told the Santa Barbara Bulletin. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
Santa Barbara now owns a record of 26-25.
