Buzz Suffer 3-2 Setback
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Spirits Stadium. But Ed Hicks conjured up just enough offense to carry the Tritons past the Salt Lake City Buzz, 3-2. Hicks hit 2 home runs. Jason O'Rorke got the win, improving to 4-2. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. The 9th-place Tritons are 20-30.
Jersey City took a 3-1 lead on Hicks's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Masao Myoga in the top of the seventh, propelled Jersey City to the win.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Salt Lake City manager Bobby Buck.
